Number of persons registered as work seekers on the live register of employment exchanges in each district of Kerala, split into general and professional/technical work seekers, men and women, as printed in the appendix 'District-wise Distribution of Work Seekers' of the Kerala Economic Review, editions 2016, 2017 and 2019 to 2025. The figures come from the Directorate of Employment and refer to the date in each caption (30 September 2016, then 31 July or 31 August of the edition year). Each row is one district (or the Kerala total), edition and measure; the table, page and file of each edition are listed under Source documents; from the 2022 edition a grand total column is printed as well. The live register held 2,297,651 work seekers on 31 August 2025 (1,468,012 women). Registration is voluntary and includes people already employed, so it is not an unemployment rate; use it to compare registered job seeking across districts and over time.

Number of persons employed in the public sector in each district of Kerala, by branch (Central Government, State Government, Central quasi-government, State quasi-government and local self-government institutions) and in total, each with the number of women, as printed in the appendix 'District wise Employment in the Public sector in Kerala by branches' of the Kerala Economic Review, editions 2019 to 2025. Each edition refers to the fiscal year in its caption (2018-19 to 2024-25). Each row is one district (or the Kerala total), edition and measure; the table, page and file of each edition are listed under Source documents; the 2020, 2021 and 2025 editions add women as a percentage of the total. The public sector employed 558,637 persons in 2024-25, 194,667 of them women. Use it to compare government employment and women's share in it across districts.

Physical progress of the Mahatma Gandhi National Rural Employment Guarantee Scheme (MGNREGS) in each district of Kerala: cumulative households issued job cards and cumulative person-days of work generated, each for Scheduled Castes, Scheduled Tribes, others and in total, plus person-days worked by women. The figures are read from the appendix 'Physical details of Mahatma Gandhi National Rural Employment Guarantee Scheme' of the Kerala Economic Review (editions 2016, 2017 and 2019 to 2025) and table 23.13 of the DES Statistics for Planning 2014, covering fiscal years 2013-14 to 2025-26. From 2017 each edition prints the previous full fiscal year and the current year up to 31 August or 30 September (is_partial_period = true). Each row is one district (Kerala totals only up to the 2017 edition), edition, fiscal year and measure. In 2024-25 the districts generated 90.8 million person-days, 80.8 million of them by women. Use it to compare rural employment generation across districts and social groups.

Number of persons employed in the organised sector in each district of Kerala on 31 March of each year, split into public and private sector, as printed in the appendix 'District-wise Employment in (under) Organised Sector in Kerala' of the Kerala Economic Review, editions 2016 (years 2000, 2005 and 2010-2016, with the total), 2017 (2000, 2005, 2010-2017) and 2021 (2011-2021). The Economic Review cites the Directorate of Employment for these figures. Each row is one district (or the Kerala total), edition, year and measure; the table, page and file of each edition are listed under Source documents. On 31 March 2021 the organised sector employed 556,634 persons in the public and 691,134 in the private sector. Use it to compare formal employment across districts and over two decades.
