Sanctioned strength, persons in position and vacancies of specialist doctors in each district of Kerala as on 31 March 2023, for three levels of hospitals under the Directorate of Health Services: district and general hospitals (DH/GH), taluk and taluk headquarters hospitals (TH/THQH) and community health centres (CHC). Published by the Comptroller and Auditor General in Report No. 6 of 2024 (Public Health Infrastructure and Management of Health Services, Government of Kerala), Table 2.2, from data furnished by the DHS in May 2023. Statewide 87 of 1,123 sanctioned specialist posts in DH/GHs (7.75%) and 49 of 741 in TH/THQHs (6.61%) were vacant. Each row is one district (or the Kerala total) and one measure. Use it to compare specialist staffing gaps across districts and hospital levels.
