The indicator-level tables behind India's National Multidimensional Poverty Index, from the NITI Aayog Progress Review 2023. The index is built from 12 indicators in three dimensions (health, education and standard of living), each with a fixed weight. For each state, union territory and India, for the whole population, the rural part and the urban part, and for the survey rounds 2015-16 and 2019-21, a row gives three numbers for one indicator: the uncensored headcount ratio (the percentage of all people deprived in the indicator), the censored headcount ratio (the percentage who are deprived in it and also multidimensionally poor) and the indicator's contribution to the MPI score. Use it to see which deprivations hold up Kerala's or another state's poverty, for example cooking fuel or sanitation, rather than only the summary score.
