District-wise counts from five rounds of the Kerala Migration Survey run by the Centre for Development Studies (1998, 2003, 2008, 2016 and 2018), 14 districts per round. For each district it gives the households and members in the survey sample, the households and people who have emigrated abroad, moved within India (out-migrants), or returned, and the remittances received in the past 12 months, for all five rounds. Rates per 100 sample households are added for comparison across districts. In 2018 Malappuram (43 emigrants per 100 sample households) and Kannur (36) are highest. PRI built the counts from the household-level microdata that CDS publishes; no household names, addresses or phone numbers are kept. Use it to compare districts and survey rounds; counts are of the sample, not of all Kerala.
