Number of medical and paramedical personnel under the Directorate of Health Services (DHS) in each district of Kerala, by category: medical officers, medical officers (administration), dentists, head nurses, staff nurses, lady health inspectors, pharmacists, junior public health nurses (JPHN/ANM), junior health inspectors and health inspectors, and the total, as printed in the appendix 'District-wise details of Medical and Paramedical Personnel under DHS' of the Kerala Economic Review, editions 2017 and 2019 to 2025. The figures come from the Directorate of Health Services and refer to a date in or just before each edition (August 2019, 31 August 2020, 30 July 2022 and 2023, March 2024 and 2025; the 2017 and 2021 tables give only the year). Each row is one district (or the Kerala total), edition and category; the table, page and file of each edition are listed under Source documents. The DHS had 28,700 such personnel in March 2025, including 6,124 medical officers and 7,464 staff nurses. Use it to compare public health staffing across districts, e.g. per population.
