The Census of India 2011 Primary Census Abstract (PCA) for every unit in Kerala: 14 districts, 63 taluks (sub-districts), 1,018 villages, 520 towns and 2,558 town wards. For each unit it gives the number of households and, for persons, males and females, the population, children aged 0-6, Scheduled Castes, Scheduled Tribes, literates, illiterates, and workers split into main and marginal workers by category (cultivators, agricultural labourers, household industry, other) and non-workers. Districts and taluks have total, rural and urban rows; villages are rural, towns and wards urban. Each row is one unit, area type and measure. It is the finest official population count for Kerala and the denominator for village- or town-level rates; the district totals match PRI-DEM-0002 (Kerala 33,406,061).
